I am a wife, mother, teacher, and librarian.

My husband, Charlie, and I have been married for 19 years. We stay active with our girls, Stephanie (14) and Kacie (12). They keep us busy with their academics, sports, and other activities. When we aren't at home, you can find us at the softball fields, either watching or playing.

I started my teaching career teaching 3rd grade ELA/SS, teaching for 3 years. I then became a stay at home mom, but teaching didn't stop. I worked with my girls developing early literacy skills through story time at the library and read alouds at home. This is when I began to realize the importance of early literacy and developing the love of reading in children. 

When my youngest was four, I went to work at the Learning Center at our church teaching PreK4 where I continued my work with early literacy. I worked there for 3 years before returning to public education.
